The “C” for cancer is a word that people don’t want to hear.   Are there foods you can add to your day that may help fight cancer?   WebMD and others have good articles on cancer-fighting foods .   As WebMD notes, there isn’t one food that can prevent cancer.   But eating a combination of cancer-fighting foods might make a difference.   What are some foods you can add to your diet that might lower your risk of getting cancer? There are so many ideas for boosting brain power but what works?   Are there foods you can add that will give your brain a boost?   Consumer Reports has an interesting article , Boost Your Brain Power at Any Age .   The article covers many brain boosters like games but what about food?   Are there foods that give your brain cells a boost?   What really works? As people age, they are concerned with dementia and Alzheimer’s and just plain forgetfulness.   A study in The Lancet found that there are 12 factors we can control that will reduce dementia risk by 40%.   These factors include staying physically active, avoid smoking, and reducing obesity which also reduces one’s risk of type 2 diabetes.    What foods promote better brain health? Have you seen those commercials on TV for brain supplements?   You take some pills and you can remember things better, you think better.   Well, I don’t know about pills, but there are some foods that help promote a healthier brain.   Foods that can help your memory and thinking.   My sister sent me the article , The Best Brain-Healthy Foods to Protect Your Memory and Cognition , highlighting some healthy brain foods.  Many of the healthy foods for your brain are found in two diets that promote overall good health.   One of the best diets for good health is the Mediterranean Diet.   As I wrote it my blog, Best Diets for Health 2021 , the Mediterranean Diet is ranked by US News & World Report as the number one Best Diet Overall .    Why?   Because eating the Mediterranean Diet way is good for weight loss, for good heart health, and for brain health.   It also can help prevent cancer and prevent or help control Type 2 Diabetes....

What a great time of year to enjoy some fresh berries.   Last week my husband brought home some freshly picked strawberries.   Raspberries are soon to be plentiful but you can buy them all year.   Blueberries are considered a superfood.   My husband now says it is getting harder to even buy blueberries as they are sold out in many stores he goes to.   He now has to go to a store farther from our home in search of blueberries, but he did find a huge container of blueberries at Costco.   Searching out and stocking up on berries is worth it.   Why?   Because berries and other fruits and vegetables are so good for your health.   (See Superpower Fruits to Add to your Diet and Superpower Vegetables to Add to Your Diet .)
